About Me

I obtained my license as a Marriage, Family and Child Therapist in June of 1999. I have worked in the field for 10 years. I specialize in Children, Adolescents with Overt Behavior(s), Gay and Lesbian Issues, Parent Child Conflicts, blended families, life transition issues, Dual Diagnosis issues, Substance abuse/use, divorce recovery, grief and loss, and stress management.

I have vast experience in Parent Education; which I learned from numerous seminars. I have conducted workshops and seminars teaching Parent Education in a variety of settings. I have given lectures / seminars to specific groups; such as: teens with divorced parents, and first time parents. I have also run numerous anger management groups for children and adolescents. I am trained in Family mediation and multicultural mediation and am a certified Court Advocate trainer for Family Law. I have also worked for over 10 years with Orange County probation.

Specialities

I practice from a Cognitive-Behavioral therapeutic framework, while always implementing genuiness, unconditional positive regard, and empathy of the Client-Centered approach. I also work from a psychodynamic approach as deemed necessary. I have been a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) since 1994, and also belong to National Council of Alcohol and Drug Dependency (NCADD), and Community Council Coalition (CCC). I have played an active role in the School Attendance Review Board (SARB) at the Garden Grove Unified School District.
